We may hear more about Apple’s plans for the HomePod during the WWDC event–especially as Apple is rumored to planning big changes to the HomePod in 2024. In 2022 Apple introduced HomePod Software Version 16 which didn’t bring a lot of new features at the time, but a later update: HomePod Software Version 16.3 brought temperature and humidity sensing to the HomePod mini and more. ![]() ![]() The Volt operates as a pure battery electric vehicle until its battery capacity drops to a predetermined threshold from full charge. As of December 2019, the Chevrolet Volt is listed as the all-time top-selling plug-in hybrid in the American market. Until December 2018, the Volt/Ampera family of vehicles was the world's all-time bestselling plug-in hybrid vehicle. Just over 10,000 Opel/Vauxhall Ampera cars had been sold in Europe as of June 2016. is the leading market, with 157,054 Volts delivered through the end of 2019, followed by Canada with 16,653 Volts sold through September 2018. Global combined Volt/Ampera-family sales totaled about 177,000 units by the end of October 2018. Sales of the 2011 Volt began in the United States in mid-December 2010, followed by various European countries and other international markets in 2011. As is, the Chevrolet Volt is quite close to being the ideal electrified car for most buyers. The Chevrolet Volt is a plug-in hybrid car manufactured by General Motors, also marketed in rebadged variants as the Holden Volt in Australia and New Zealand and the Buick Velite 5 in China, and with a different fascia as the Vauxhall Ampera in the United Kingdom and as the Opel Ampera in the remainder of Europe. Suggestion to General Motors: drop a derivation of this drivetrain in an Equinox, price it under forty grand, and maybe keep some plants open. Regardless of whether poor marketing killed the Volt - how many regular car shoppers know what a plug-in hybrid is, really? - or whether blame rests on an overall move away from traditional cars, the writing was on the wall. It's not perfect, but it does a good number of things very well. Shame, because this Volt is very nearly a brilliant car. Ultimately, the business needs to do whatever it takes to survive. The corporation exists, as they say, to service the shareholders. ![]() I feel for those in the several factories slated to close, but I struggle to lay all of the blame at General Motors. The Volt arrived in my driveway two days after GM announced the impending closure of its Detroit-Hamtramck plant. You lose a few nice features, certainly - namely wireless cell phone charging, heated leather seats, the fast (7.2kW) charging system, and parking assist - but for the money, a more basic Volt is both attractive and competitive with other plug-in hybrids.įor those who haven't heard the news, the Chevrolet Volt ceases production soon, part of GM's plan to rationalize in the face of increased competitive and regulatory pressures. I'd be doing you, the car-shopping public, a disservice were I not to mention that the Volt LT can be had for $34,395. This Volt is the Premier trim, mostly because automakers typically want journalists to sample the best of the best. It's the real-world way to go green.Ĭheck that price - yeah, it's a bit strong for a four-seat* hatchback. While it can run for over 50 miles without using gasoline, the gas engine charges the batteries, allowing for range similar to that of a traditional car. That's where a plug-in hybrid, like this 2019 Chevrolet Volt, makes all the difference. I need the flexibility to drive across several states without plugging in. Until nationwide infrastructure and car charging technologies allow for both a 300-mile range (typically the range of a kid's bladder) and a 10-to-15 minute full recharge time, the internal combustion engine will always find a home in my driveway. But I'm not ready for them, and likely neither are you. Fully electric cars keep popping up, from startups and legacy automakers alike. You may even consider looking at the websites of businesses like yours to see what is out there. Consider how complex you want your website to be, what message you’d like to send to your visitors, and what your business is trying to accomplish. One of the most important aspects of estimating a website project’s cost and timeframe is to figure out what it is you want. These tips can help you to estimate a website’s project cost and timeline whether you are looking to build a brand-new website or to fix up the one you already have. Estimating time and cost is an essential part of any type of project.īelow are some tips about what you need to consider when thinking about building or rebuilding your website. This process requires you to be as flexible as possible. There is no sure-fire way to tell exactly how long your website will take or what it will cost. When estimating how much time and money it will take to create a website, it is important to remember that it is just a best guess based on your goals and tools available. ![]() There is a lot that goes into planning the building of a website, not only with its timeframe but also with its cost. It also will depend heavily on your budget and the amount of money you are able and willing to spend on getting a website up and running. It all depends on what goals you might have and what approach you might like to take. Depending on your own experience with building a website, you might wrestle with the idea of doing most of it yourself or calling on an expert to do the work. A business with an effective website will grow and be more profitable than a business without a website or one that does not draw in new customers. Such integrations generally require more development work, which could extend the project timeline and increase costs.Creating a website takes both time and money, especially if you want it to be effective for your business.

When Cinderella flees from the ball, she sings this sad melody to the prince, who is so haunted by it, that he will eventually search for her throughout the kingdom not with a shoe, but with this melody. Alma Deutscher was playing piano and violin by the time she was 3 years old and wrote her first opera at 10. I liked Antonin's harmony and melody so much that I decided to steal it and use it in my opera. When I was eight, I wrote a whole biography of Antonin. When the day falls into darkness (Cinderella's Ballad, melody from age 8) This melody was actually composed by Antonin Yellowsink, my favourite composer in Transylvanian, my imaginary country. ![]() ![]() For this album, I chose one melody from each year of my life, from ages four to fourteen. But as soon as I learnt to write music, I started writing melodies down so that I wouldn't forget them. At the beginning, I couldn't write the music down, so I played these melodies on the piano and my parents sometimes recorded them. I pretended that they were songs from my imaginary country, which I called 'Transylvanian'. It all started when the young composer asked Pelley to choose four notes at random from a hat. ![]() The Sigma 10-20/5.6 is also a strong possibility. ![]() The 10-22 is another big investment and can't really be used on FF- I wouldn't to the mod people talk about here. So I think I am going to value an UWA that has the long end covered as well. If I get a 11-16, that is going to mean I will have to do a lot more lens changes. I often find myself at 17mm with the 17-50 wanting a little wider and then in a few shots I am more in the middle of the range. The 11-16 II is heavy on my list still, but I have never shot wider than 28mm on FIlm or 17mm on crop so I don't have a good feel for these focal lengths. If you compare the 11-16 at 15-16ish to the Canon 14/2.8 $2360 with rebate, the 11-16 gets you 90% there at 30% of the cost. Even that is a good chunk of change cheaper than the old 16-35 version I on the used market from what I have seen on the local Craigslist. The II version of the 11-16 is only $740 in comparison. The 16-35 is $1700 with a rebate and the first 11-16 is a third of that at $600. Well I would like to have enough money in my portfolio to be able to reference the difference in price between a 11-16 and a 16-35 as "a little more". If you wanted to make the argument of buying a zoom lens for use with a fixed focal length, handicapping its full potential, you should have addressed that in your initial post instead of trying to downplay facts and valid criticisms I've made.Ĭanon 70D w/ Grip, Canon 70-200mm f/4L, Canon 24-105mm f/4L, Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 You should be clear about your arguments even though I've basically addressed these issues. Its not ridiculous or absolutely false, anything below 15mm does cause vignetting and only gets worse with a shorter focal length, the photographs provided by Leopold Stotch in this thread prove that, I don't know why you're trying to give a different impression, I've already stated that the lens is only usable at basically a fixed state whilst being sold for APS-C cameras for use with zoom. These ridiculous statements are what I was commenting on. You also stated that there was "massive vignetting" on this lens (which would include the 15mm & 16mm focal lengths). Having a quality lens that can be used at the 15mm and 16mm range is not useless. I was commenting on your statement was that the 11-16mm was "useless" on a full frame. I wasn't commenting on the comparison of the two lenses. Which is why its pointless spending the money on a Tokina where you can spend a little more for the Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 and get a LOT more out of it. What about the rest of the zoom range? The 11-14mm range? Its now rendered useless so you've essentially paid for a lens thats only used for a fraction of its capabilities. I remember shooting on the 5D2 with my Tokina 11-16mm, 15mm and 16mm were the only usable focal lengths and I'm not so sure that at 15mm is was absolutely free of any vignetting, IIRC, there was still some minor vignetting (very minor though). |
